Where Can I Hold My Wedding and Reception in Kingston?
The GTA offers a wide range of settings appropriate for a wedding and a reception. From large to small venues, there is something to fit just about every taste and budget. If you have made the decision to marry and are currently looking for the perfect venue for your ceremony and reception in Kingston, here are a few places to visit before you make a final decision.
The Renaissance on Queen Street
As the oldest church structure in Kingston, the Renaissance provides a traditional setting with a contemporary twist. The interior of the building has been restored and updated with care that befits a location for a wedding and reception. Once the sanctuary for the church, the Upper Salon is now the space set aside for ceremonies as well as receptions. The seating capacity is 200, something that will work well for many couples.
If you would like something more intimate, the Lower Salon has a capacity of 140 and can also be arranged for a simple ceremony followed by a reception. If you like, panels and drapes are on hand to provide a visual separation between the space set aside for the exchange of vows and the area for the reception.
Throughout the facility, you have the opportunity to enjoy high ceilings, marble and hardwood flooring, and a decorative balcony that overlooks the Upper Salon. If you need a little more room, there is a patio that will allow overflow of an additional 80 guests. You could also choose to use the patio for an intimate outdoor ceremony and follow with a reception in one of the salons.
The River Mill Restaurant
Along with public dining, the River Mill restaurant also offers banquet and event space. That includes areas that will work just fine for your wedding day. In operation since 1985, the restaurant has a reputation for serving only quality dishes to its patrons. Much of the charm of the place comes from the fact that the original structure was built as a cotton mill in 1882. Enjoy a reception with a waterfront view after holding the ceremony in the Rideau Room. Table linens are on hand so there is no need to find them elsewhere.
While some venues are geared toward couples with smaller or larger guests list, the Italo-Canadian Club can accommodate events of varying sizes. If you are planning on inviting a larger number of people to the wedding and reception, consider what the ballroom has to offer. With space for 350 people, the ballroom provides tall ceilings, plenty of natural light, and the ability to lay out the plan for your day with ease.
There’s also the Conference Room with a capacity of 60 people. When the plan is to have a few close friends in attendance and host a simple reception along with your afternoon wedding, this space is ideal.
You’ll find plenty of parking spaces, and building is wheelchair accessible. That means all of your loved ones will have no trouble entering and exiting the club.
